Wood fence installation in Mobile and Baldwin County

Wood is still the most popular backyard fence on the Gulf Coast. We build privacy, board-on-board, picket and horizontal fences in pressure-treated pine or cedar, sized to your yard and finished the way you want.

Six feet is the usual backyard privacy height. Check your HOA rules before choosing 8 feet.

Privacy
Pickets set side by side for a solid wall. The classic backyard fence.
Board-on-board
Overlapping pickets on both sides, so it looks finished from either yard and closes the gaps as wood shrinks.
Cap and trim
A privacy or board-on-board fence with a top cap and trim board for a cleaner, built-in look.
Picket
Spaced pickets, usually 4 feet tall, for front yards and gardens.
Horizontal
Boards run sideways for a modern look on privacy fences.

How we build it

Pine or cedar

Pressure-treated pine is treated to resist rot and insects and costs less. Cedar resists decay naturally and weathers to a soft gray.

Posts set in concrete

Every wood post is set in concrete so the fence stays straight through wet seasons and storms.

Steel post upgrade

PostMaster steel posts, galvanized or black, replace wood posts that can rot at the ground. They carry a limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer.

Stain and seal

Protect new or older wood with our fence staining service using Wood Defender stain.

Common questions

How long does a wood fence last here?

Heat, humidity and rain are hard on wood. A pressure-treated pine fence that is stained and kept clear of sprinklers and soil usually lasts many years. Posts are the weak point, which is why we offer steel posts.

Should I stain my new fence?

Yes. New pressure-treated wood needs time to dry before it takes stain. Ask us when your fence is ready, and we can stain it for you.

Which side of the fence faces my neighbor?

Most owners put the finished side facing out. A board-on-board fence looks the same from both sides, so nobody gets the back.
